Daisuke of Fulare_Pad

Daisuke of Fulare_Pad

fulare_pad is a combination of a Japanese word "furari" meaning wandering and an English word of "pad" which refers to walking or "padding" around. Like its original name, the unique harmony created by a `ukulele and an acoustic guitar takes you on a musical journey to soothe your soul. Daisuke Maeda (ʻukulele) and Hideyuki Shimizu (acoustic guitar), childhood friends, started their professional career in 2008 with their signature tune “Summer Spur” being featured on the TV commercial of Japan’s high class beauty brand SK-II. They have so far released five full length albums and one EP, all available on iTunes. In 2010, fulare_pad entered the Jazz-Fusion field and won the Special Jury Prize at the contest of the biggest Jazz festival in Japan - Sapporo City Jazz. This opened their doors to the world by being a part of Toronto Jazz Festival in the following year. Since then, they have performed both nationally and internationally in Hawaii, Thailand, Italy, Australia, Korea and Taiwan. In 2016, fulare_pad added an additional instrument to their eclectic sound: vocals. A verbal expression will craft the diorama representing the view of their home tome Kyoto, the heart of Japan, which they proudly present to the world. Their newest and first EP featuring vocals titled “Kyoto Tower ni Nobotte” has been released and appointed as an official promotional song of Kyoto Tower, the symbolic building of Kyoto. With or without the words, the music of fulare_pad is always designed to bring you back each home, where all journey should end at.
