The Signature Series Lion Tenor is a one-of-one expression of Kanileʻa craftsmanship, built from exceptional Joe’s Stash Hawaiian Koa and brought to life through the handwork of Kahiau Souza, Kanileʻa’s Production Manager and son of founder Joe Souza.

The lion theme is woven throughout the instrument with remarkable detail. A handcrafted lion mosaic is set into the ebony headplate, a cub mosaic rests beside the soundhole, and paw mosaic position markers travel along the fingerboard. Highly figured 5A Maple and vivid orange accents continue throughout the design, creating a bold contrast against the depth and movement of the Koa.

No detail was left untouched. From the custom oval side sound port framed in maple to the carefully coordinated trim and appointments, every element works together as one complete composition.

Beneath the artistry, TRU-R Bracing and TRU-Reduction give the instrument the resonance, sustain, clarity, and responsiveness expected from Kanileʻa’s highest level of work. The UV gloss finish highlights the character of the Koa, while a silk-finished neck, Gotoh 510 Mini tuners, and Worth Low-G setup complete the playing experience.
