Zoë Bestel
Zoë Bestel is a Scottish singer‑songwriter and contemporary folk artist known for her ethereal vocals, poignant lyrics, and expressive ʻukulele work. Born in Liverpool in 1997 and raised in Wigtown, Scotland, she first picked up the ʻukulele at age 13 and began writing and performing original songs that blend nu‑folk, indie pop, and heartfelt storytelling.
Zoë released her first EP 35 Missed Calls in 2012, which reached No. 3 on the Amazon Folk Chart, and her albums Sir Lucas & The Moon and Transience received critical acclaim across the UK and Europe. She has performed at major festivals including Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, and The Ukulele Festival of Scotland, and her music has been featured on BBC radio and television.
In 2026 Zoë launched The Solway Songline, a creative project celebrating rural community music and fostering live performance opportunities throughout Dumfries and Galloway, strengthening local arts and connection through song.
