Kamuela Kimokeo

Kamuela Kimokeo is a respected Hawaiian musician, educator, composer, and multi‑ Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award‑winning performer whose work spans performance, teaching, and cultural perpetuation. He began playing music professionally at age 14 in Waikīkī and was mentored by some of Hawaiʻi’s finest artists, shaping his deep connection to Hawaiian musical traditions.

Kamuela has toured nationally and internationally and performed with artists such as Amy Hānaialiʻi, Raiātea Helm, and Jerry Santos. He appears on the Grammy‑nominated and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award‑winning Slack Key Kings Vol. II and is a core member of the acclaimed trio Hiʻikua.

In addition to performing, he serves as Director of the Hawaiʻi Music Institute and Head of the Music Program at Windward Community College, where he teaches ʻukulele, slack key, music theory, and Hawaiian music history and leads the Kaʻohekani Hawaiian Music Certificate program. He was also honored with the Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching for his dedication to music education.
