Trey Terada
Trey Terada, also known as Dr. Trey, is a veteran Hawaiian musician, producer, educator, and ʻukulele advocate whose passion for music and ʻukulele has influenced generations of players and performers. Based in Oʻahu, Trey has dedicated his career to showcasing the versatility of the ʻukulele not just as a traditional instrument, but as a voice in contemporary Hawaiian and global music.
A Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award‑winning producer, Trey earned recognition for his work on Pure Heart with Jake Shimabukuro and continues to record, perform, and teach while bringing fresh energy to both traditional and modern Hawaiian music. He’s also known for founding Four Strings Studio in Kaneohe, where he has mentored and collaborated with numerous artists, helping shape the sound of today’s ʻukulele masters.
