Jonah Kahanuola Solatorio
Jonah Kahanuola Solatorio is a Hawaiian educator, musician, composer, and champion of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (the Hawaiian language). A native of Kewalo Uka, Kona, Oʻahu, Jonah comes from an ʻohana of talented musicians and developed his passion for Hawaiian culture through school music programs and community involvement. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hawaiian Language and Hawaiian Studies and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and now serves as a kumu ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language teacher) at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama.
Jonah is also a member of Keauhou, an acclaimed Hawaiian musical trio known for preserving traditional Hawaiian mele while sharing it with modern audiences; the group has won numerous Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and continues to perform across Hawaiʻi.
Beyond the classroom and stage, Jonah shares Hawaiian language and culture through his popular @ehoopilimai social media series and weekly community ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi classes, helping learners worldwide connect with language, heritage, and mele.
