Honoka
Honoka Katayama, known professionally simply as Honoka, is a Hawaiian ʻukulele player, vocalist, and solo artist whose expressive playing and heartfelt performances have captivated audiences around the world. She first gained international attention as one half of the dynamic ʻukulele and vocal duo Honoka & Azita, where she and her bandmate won the Most Valuable Player prize at the International ʻUkulele Contest in Honolulu and performed at festivals and events across the U.S. and Japan.
Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Honoka began playing the ʻukulele at a young age and was mentored at ʻUkulele Hale in Honolulu, developing a musical style inspired by the islands’ natural beauty and aloha spirit. After the duo disbanded, she has pursued a solo career, performing internationally and sharing her love for music, ʻukulele, and the essence of Hawaiʻi through expressive arrangements and original compositions.
Honoka continues to tour, create new music, and inspire fans with her soulful artistry and devotion to the ʻukulele community.
