Groundbreaking

The Kanileʻa P-1 is a groundbreaking instrument, marking the first and only Hawaiian-made Pineapple Tenor Ukulele. This innovative design combines the traditional charm of the iconic pineapple shape with the rich tonal qualities of Kanileʻa craftsmanship. As the first to offer this distinctive shape in a tenor size, the P-1 breaks new ground in both aesthetics and sound, delivering a unique, resonant tone that stands apart from any other ukulele on the market. With the P-1, Kanileʻa has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation, offering players an exclusive instrument that’s both historically inspired and forward-thinking.

Thoughtful

The Kanileʻa P-1 is a thoughtful reflection of the care and attention we put into every detail of our instruments. When designing the original prototypes, we initially chose the iconic Kanileʻa crown headstock, as it’s been a signature feature of our ukuleles. However, after much consideration, we realized it didn’t quite feel proportionate with the unique pineapple body shape. The solution came in the form of the sleek, elongated Cobra-shaped headstock, which not only complemented the body beautifully but also added a touch of elegance and balance. This thoughtful design decision was made with you in mind—to create an instrument that feels as right in the hands as it sounds to the ears.

Vibrant and Sweet

The Kanileʻa P-1 Pineapple Tenor is more than just a ukulele; it’s a tribute to innovation, heritage, and the art of balance. When we set out to craft this one-of-a-kind instrument, we didn’t just want to create another ukulele. We wanted to push boundaries and honor the spirit of Hawaiian music. The pineapple shape was chosen not only for its historical roots but for its ability to produce a rich, full-bodied tone unlike any other. With its unique body, the P-1 sings with a beautiful, resonant voice that fills the room. Every curve, every line is intentional—designed to capture the soul of the islands and bring a unique voice to your music. The P-1 is more than an instrument; it’s a statement of what’s possible when tradition meets innovation.
