Maia Shizue (often credited simply as SHIZUE) is a Hawaiʻi‑born ʻukulele virtuosa, singer, producer, and genre‑pushing artist blending island roots with modern electronic music. Born and raised on Oʻahu, Maia has developed a signature sound she calls UKE EDM — a fusion of bass, trap, and electronic production with soulful ʻukulele playing that expands the instrument’s traditional boundaries.

In 2025 she released her music video for “MR. MISSED HER,” showcasing her cinematic musical vision and introducing fans to this new genre that honors her cultural roots while embracing bold, contemporary production. Maia is currently working on her debut EP, where each track will be paired with its own short film to deepen the emotional and visual storytelling of her music.
