NEW FOR 2019: KSR SLOTTED HEADSTOCK SERIES

KĀNE`OHE, HAWAI`I – Kanile`a `Ukulele introduces the KSRKoa Slotted Armrest series for 2019. Inspired by the overwhelming response of the Kanile`a 2016 Platinum `ukulele, the KSR was built with the player in mind.

“This is NOT a collector’s instrument,” says Kanile`a production manager Kaimana Souza. “This series was created to satisfy every player, from the new student in a classroom to the professional playing a sold-out event. Every aspect of this `ukulele was thoughtfully planned top to bottom. The traditional, thin flat-top slotted headstock offers additional tension and playability in a stylish way. And the contrasting koa armrest? It’s perfect for those all-night jam sessions.”

Like all 2019 Kanile`a instruments, the KSR comes standard with the new TRU-R (Total Resonating `Ukulele-Redesigned) bracing system. Created by Kanile`a founder and master luthier Joe Souza, the TRU-R bracing system’s touch-release-touch set up guarantees an incomparable resonance and sustain while properly supporting and strengthening the integrity of the instrument’s body.

Add to that Japanese-built Gotoh Stealth geared tuners with an 18:1 ratio, ebony fingerboard/bridge/head plate, a bridge pin system and Aquila Corde super-nylgut strings and you’ve got a playable masterpiece with a beautiful sound.

The Kanile`a KSR is available in three sizes – Super Concert, Tenor and Super Tenor. Koa wood upgrades available.

About Kanile`a `Ukulele:

Joe and Kristen Souza are the dynamic husband-wife team who founded Kanile`a `Ukulele in July of 1998. Joe apprenticed under master luthier, the late Peter Bermodez in 1990 learning “uncle Pete’s” traditional Hawaiian building techniques while integrating today’s 21st century technologies. This mash up of old and new has proven effective in creating a full-bodied, rich sound that is distinctive of these playable masterpieces. All Kanile`a instruments are handcrafted in the Souzas’ hometown of Kāne`ohe, Hawai`i. Kristen oversees administrative operations, retail sales and dealer support. Together, the Souzas employ a team of expert artisans, retail salespeople and administrative staff members.

Kanile`a `Ukulele are available worldwide through authorized dealers and directly from the factory. For more details, call (808) 234-2868 or visit kanileaukulele.com.
