Stephen Inglis
Stephen Inglis is a versatile Hawaiian musician, guitarist, singer‑songwriter, and innovator known for his mastery of Hawaiian slack key guitar (ki ho‘alu) and genre‑crossing style that blends traditional roots with contemporary, acoustic, and electric influences. Born and raised in Honolulu, he has toured and recorded with some of Hawaiʻi’s most respected traditional musicians, earning recognition for both artistic depth and creative exploration.
He is a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner and recipient of the Ki Hōʻalu Legacy Award, and his duet album Waimaka Helelei with Hawaiian legend Dennis Kamakahi won a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award and is on permanent display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Inglis’ albums like Slackin on Dylan and Cut The Dead Some Slack showcase his inventive spirit, reimagining slack key in new musical contexts.
Stephen performs extensively at concerts, festivals, and venues across the U.S. and Hawaiʻi and continues to expand his sound while honoring the rich musical traditions of the islands.
