Kolohe Kai
Hailing from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, Kolohe Kai is the project of singer/songwriter Roman De Peralta and has been a defining voice in Pacific Island Reggae for over a decade. Since signing his first record deal at 17, Roman has produced 10 Island Reggae hits, blending ukulele-driven melodies with roots reggae, pop, and R&B influences.
Kolohe Kai’s music has earned widespread acclaim: Paradise (2013) was named Reggae Album of the Year by the Na Hoku Hano Hano Awards, and Summer To Winter (2019) won Reggae Album of the Year at the Island Music Awards. Singles like “Ehu Girl,” “Cool Down,” and “Round and Round” have become iconic, collectively amassing over 41 million Spotify streams.
Kolohe Kai’s fifth album is on the horizon, alongside special projects celebrating the band’s 10-year anniversary, marking another chapter in the evolution of one of Hawaii’s most beloved reggae artists.
