Kapena DeLima of Kapena

Kapena DeLima is a Hawaiian musician and long‑time member of the family band Kapena, carrying on the legacy his father, Kelly Boy DeLima, began decades ago. Raised in a musical ʻohana and brought onstage from a young age, Kapena started playing with the band as a child and has been a core contributor for over 15 years. He originally began as the group’s keyboardist and now plays drums and provides vocals, helping shape the band’s evolving sound.

Beyond performance, Kapena has built his own creative career offstage as a recording engineer, producer, and music director, including owning and operating Bu Print Studios. He’s also earned recognition within the Hawaiʻi music community, including Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards for production and solo projects, showcasing his talents both in front of and behind the scenes.

Kapena’s dynamic contributions continue to expand Kapena’s rich legacy of island music, blending family tradition with modern influences and heartfelt performance.
