Hook

Hook is one of Japan’s most celebrated ʻukulele and guitar artists, known for his expressive playing, creative compositions, and leadership in the global ʻukulele community. Based in Japan, he serves as President of “HOOK 100 MOMENTS,” a large ʻukulele orchestra with over 100 players, and is a frequent performer at major festivals including the Blue Mountain Ukulele Festival, Taiwan Ukulele Festival, ʻUkulele Picnic in Hawaiʻi, and Blue Note Hawaiʻi.

A prolific recording artist, Hook has released several acclaimed albums, with Imagine and In the Moment earning International Album Special Recognition nominations at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, and Colors winning top honors in that category in 2018. His work also garnered recognition as a finalist in the International Acoustic Music Awards.

In addition to performing and recording, Hook is an educator and author of instructional books like Minna no ʻUkulele Ensemble and Ukulele Diva BBEST, helping players of all levels grow their technique and musical understanding.
