Hook

Hook is one of Japan’s most celebrated ʻukulele and guitar players. As a live musician, he is the President of a ʻukulele orchestra in Japan of over 100 players called “HOOK 100 MOMENTS.” He has also collaborated with other stellar artists such as the Grammy award-winning Daniel Ho. His many international appearances include the Blue Mountain Ukulele Festival, Taiwan Ukulele Festival, Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii and Blue Note Hawaiʻi, just to name a few. Hook has published a number of books, Minna no Ukulele Ensemble and Ukulele Diva BBEST available now through Dream Music Factory.

AWARDS & ACCOLADES

As a recorded artist, Hook’s works have garnered international attention. His 3rd album "Imagine" and 4th album "In the Moment" were both nominated for International Album Special Recognition for the prestigious Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards in their respective release years. Then in 2018, Hook’s album “Colors” won top prize in that same category at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. “Colors” was also a recognized finalist in the 14th International Acoustic Music Awards.
