These are photos of a previously built `ukulele. Please keep in mind that this is a sample. In the world of wood products
the finished instrument may vary from one piece to another
and you will not find two pieces the same. These photos give you an idea of what the accessories look like as well as the shape and size. The woods will always vary in grain, curl and color.
Each instrument we build, with the exception of an eight string, may be equipped with a “G” fourth course (196Hz) fixed with a 0.029"
Phosphor Bronze wire-wrapped nylon-core string for no extra charge. The woven
"low G-string" is tuned an octave lower, which gives a richer sound and opens a wider picking range. In addition each Kanile’a ‘Ukulele, with the exception of our Baritones and Sopranos, can be upgraded to a multiple stringed instrument. All of our six and eight string instruments come with a
.200" x .375" Carbon Fiber (Graphite) rod inserted
into the neck. Carbon Fiber has a higher
strength to weight ratio than steel and this Carbon
Fiber rod adds significant strength to the neck and improves
the instruments tonal response.
This is an example of a Custom Tenor that was
designed with specific detail.
We started with Master Grade Premium Curly Koa for
the body and utilized New Zealand abalone for the
rosette and Hawaiian Island inlay. The binding,
finger board and bridge is Gabon ebony which provides a
sleek look to this beautiful instrument.
